BARRY: EVERTON PLAYERS SHOULD HELP COACH

Gareth Barry advises the Everton players to help their new coach in Ronald Koeman from getting angry and losing his rage whilst on the sidelines.

Barry sees the coach as a perfectionist and hopes he would be able to manage his temper as the new manager of the Toffees in the new campaign.

Koeman is known to demand high standards when he is at the helms from his team. However, Gareth Barry feels the very high expectations of the manager on and off the pitch is a good thing. He knows if the players don’t get what Koeman instructs then the coach would be very frustrated.

“His reputation was there before he even came through the door at Everton. His playing career was sensational and he’s obviously a very experienced manager as well.

“He came to Southampton new to the Premier League and did a great job there so hopefully we can be part of seomthing special here,” Barry said.

Everton’s pre season preparations will enter a higher dimension when they face the Red Devils in a testimonial match for Wayne Rooney being his boyhood club. The game comes on the back of two defeats in the Dresden Cup but Gareth Barry opines that it would be a good challenge to face ahead of the coming season. He said the level at Old Trafford would be much higher than all their pre season friendly games so far.

After the game against Manchester United, Everton will face title challengers of the last term, Tottenham Hotspurs as they round up their pre season preparations before the season begins next week. Barry revealed that Koeman has not given him any individual message for the team as he wants them to play together. He added that his focus is to get match fitness again within two and half weeks so he could rejoin the squad.
