Manchester City midfielder Gareth Barry hails 'best performance' of the season after a win over Fulham. The England international helped his team to a 4-1 win and three vital points to close the gap at the top of the Premier League to just three points.

Gareth Barry admits that it is the best he has seen City play in the last 12 months. "That's probably the best we've played this year," Barry told Sky Sports.

"We knew it was a good chance to make an impression and move up the league a bit so it was a great performance, especially in the first half."

The game was Fulham boss Mark Hughes’s first time managing against the club that sacked him last December and Barry admits there was mutual respect between the City players and Hughes.
