BACK ON FORM

The midfielder of Manchester City, Gareth Barry, has said that his team is getting back to top form at the right time.
The performance of City in a couple of matches towards the end of the last month was below par. The Citizens had to play draws against QPR and Liverpool. They had made plenty of mistakes in both those games and because of those two draws; they had fallen further behind United in terms of points. But, City has bounced back in the last two games and has won them with big margins.

City defeated Southampton in a Premier League match by 3-1 and then, made its way into the sixth round of the FA Cup with a thumping victory over Leeds United by 4-0.

However, City is still 12 points behind United in the Premier League points table. City has 53 points in 26 matches, while, United has 65 points in the same number of matches.

When asked about City’s brilliant performance in the last two games, Barry said, “We are peaking at the right time. It’s a very important stage of the league and it’s great that we are back to our best now. The way we have played in the last two games is really fantastic. We need to keep this going till the end of the season.”

When asked about United’s 12 point lead, Barry said, “Yes, they are leading by a big margin, but, we still have to remain positive. Anything can still happen with 12 matches to be played. It’s difficult, but, the kind of players we have got, we can do it.”

City will take on Chelsea in its next match. That match will be played at Etihad Stadium on Sunday. The result of that match will be very important as Chelsea is only 4 points behind City.
