BARRY OVERJOYED

Manchester City midfielder Gareth Barry has said that he is extremely overjoyed at the Premier league season that just concluded because it has been is best ever season. The 31-year-old managed to lift his first ever Premier league title this season with Manchester City.

The former Aston Villa midfielder was ridiculed by a lot of the Aston Villa supporters after his mega money move to Manchester city. Many criticised that he was choosing money over football, but Gareth Barry has said that he is pleased to prove them wrong. Barry won the FA Cup with Manchester city last season and this is his second trophy with the club.

The 31-year-old made 44 appearances during the entire season for Manchester City and has been an ever present force in the midfield alongside Yaya Touré. He has been able to keep Dutch midfielder Nigel de Jong out of the side due to his impressive form. He will be returning to Aston Villa's Villa Park next season as a Premier league Champion in order to face Chelsea in the Community Shield. Gareth Barry has also been included in the England squad for the Euro 2012 by manager Roy Hodgson. He is expected to play alongside Frank Lampard at the tournament.

"This is the perfect club for me. The formation the manager likes to play, with me as one of two holding midfielders, suits me. I feel I can play on until my mid-30s. Hopefully, that will be at City. I don't expect to play every week but we'll be challenging for honours over the next few years and I can't ask for more than that. "It's definitely been my best season ever. The amount of games I've managed to get, considering the squad we've got, has been brilliant," said Barry.
