BARRY: SILVA REMAINS BEST I EVER WORKED WITH

This was the position of Everton’s midfielder, Gareth Barry in an interview.

Barry looked forward to meeting up with David Silva, who currently plies his trade in Manchester City, for a reunion on Saturday at City’s Etihad Stadium. The duo had been team mates at City before Barry moved on to Everton.

Barry, while still at City had worked with the likes of Carlos Tevez, Yaya Toure and Sergio Aguero, amongst others but maintains that his best teammate then among the others was David Silva.

The Everton midfielder, who is currently 35 years old had this to say about Silva and the time spent playing with him,

"I loved playing with David Silva at City. When I received the ball, every time I looked up he seemed to be acres of space that you could find him in."

While talking about which of his managers had made the most input in his life, Barry gave credit to Martin O’Neill, the former boss at Aston Villa. He said the coach’s decision to convert him from the position of a defender to that of a midfielder has been the focal point of his career.

He also described Roberto Mancini, the former boss at Etihad Stadium as the manager who had the capability of getting out the most from his players. While at City, Barry who spent four seasons, won a Premier league title and an FA cup Winner’s medal. His words on Mancini:
"Mancini, he got a good reaction. But he didn't always have the best reputation with some of the players. He'd fall out with a lot of them and that would be the reason – he'd get under people's skins to try to get a reaction."

In the Premier league, Barry has been named as the player who has made the highest starts. This earned him a Guinness World Record award just last week.
