WESTBROM AND CELTIC BATTLE FOR DIANGANA

Championship side West Bromwich Albion are hoping to land Grady Diangana on a permanent basis but they face competition from Scottish champs Celtic, per reports. The West Ham academy product was on loan to the Albion in the 2019/20 season and he impressed. Westbrom pray to add him to their ranks but it will cost almost 15 million pounds per the Hammers valuation.
Former West Ham manager Slaven Bilic, who now handles the Albion, rates the winger highly especially after his impressive performances in the Championship. The 22-year old loanee scored seven times in 28 games, assisting six times as Westbrom target a return to the topflight. Diangana alongside another loanee Matheus Pereira lit up the season for Westbrom.
Bilic is betting they make a return to the Premier League with the expected cashflow enough to fund Diangana’s deal and lure him beyond Celtic. The Scots are hoping West Ham decide to loan him for another season rather than sell. If they want to sell, the Bhoys would not be able to buy as their record signing Odsonne Edouard cost less then ten million pounds. It’s unlikely Celtic will sell their star striker to fund a permanent move for Diangana.
Lee Hendrie says he had a chat with Premier League legend Gareth Barry about Diangrana’s future at Westbrom. The former England star says according to Barry the 22-year old will continue at the club as the fans and team like him and want him to remain.
Westbrom are in second place in the Championship with 82 points after 44 games. Leeds are two points ahead with a game in hand. The deal rests on Westbrom getting the second automatic qualifier spot and Westham willing to part with their rising star.
